Dr. Kingsley Chin is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of KIC Ventures. In his role, Dr. Chin oversees all aspects of the KIC Ventures investment portfolio to include commercialization, allocation, and acquisition strategies.
Kingsley is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon with 30 years of healthcare industry and executive leadership experience at the intersection of medicine, business, and information technology. Renowned for his research on disruptive spine innovations, Dr. Chin has authored 90+ scientific publications and been issued 50+ patents. He is the sole inventor of MANTIS, a minimally invasive spine technology acquired by Stryker Spine in 2005, leading to a 100X return on investment.
Faced with extreme poverty in Buff Bay Jamaica, Kingsley graduated from Titchfield High School then immigrated to the USA on a soccer scholarship to attend Columbia College then Columbia School of Engineering. Kingsley's professional experience includes roles with Fortune 500 companies including AT&T Bell Labs, Andersen (Accenture), Cigna, and Goldman Sachs within management information systems consulting.
Dr. Chin is a two-time graduate of Harvard University, earning a degree in medicine (honors) and another as an orthopedic resident. Dr. Chin completed his fellowship in spine surgery at the University Hospitals of Cleveland at Case Western University prior to spending four years as Chief of Orthopedic Spine Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Kingsley holds an MBA and also completed Harvard Business School’s Executive Leadership Program.
